I am a grant writer, fundraiser, nonprofit administrator and consultant with more than 20 years experience.
I got my start by founding a theater company in New York, called The Shakespeare Project. We created and toured large-scale productions through the parks in all five boroughs. In 12 years, I produced 55 shows: Shakespeare, circuses, street theater, dance, festivals. I grew the budget from $800 to $400,000, with nearly 95% coming from unearned revenue. It was exhilarating and exhausting.
I have worked with dozens of arts, education and community organization in Los Angeles and New York. I secured funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York Times Foundation, James Irvine Foundation, NY State Council on the Arts, LA City Department of Cultural Affairs, LA County Arts Commission, Jewish Community Foundation, Alliance of Resident Theatres/NY and many others.
I have served on grant-making panels, including LA City Department of Cultural Affairs, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, New York Times Foundation, NY Foundation for the Arts, Alliance of Resident Theatres/NY, and CEC International. I was honored to serve on the board of directors for the Alliance of Resident Theatres/NY from 2003 -2005. I serve on the board of Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble.
I am also an actor, a writer, dad to a beautiful baby girl, husband to a dynamic beautiful smartie-pants wife, and owner of a snoring beagle.
I am always available to answer questions, write grants, search for funders, help with IRS compliance, and play chess. Just drop a note.
